Hands-On With Google's New Pixel Buds

Of all the things announced at Google’s hardware event today, the revamped Pixel Buds were my favorite. That’s not just based on the fact that I’m very impressed by them; it is also because they were the only thing that didn’t fully leak out ahead of time. Knowing they were coming was enough to whet my appetite and spur my imagination around what Google might just do with a great set of wireless earbuds. And they did not disappoint.

I know most people weren't big fans of the original pixel buds but I had them and really enjoyed using them minus the intrusive cable. I'm really excited to give these a try, I just wish the case still had the soft cloth cover of the original

I spent too long waiting for these and ended up buying the powerbeats pro. These look amazing though and when these die or when someone else asks I know what to recommend.

I definitely like the flushed, in-ear design, but why purchase any buds now that are not taking advantage of Qualcomm's new chip? Google waited too long or they didn't wait long enough. These could have been 10-11 hours instead of 5. 5 hour earbuds are outdated unless you're an iPhone user.

Nice review - how are the controls? Play/Pause/Skip Tracks/? Can you adjust volume from the buds? Is it a press or a swipe? or soft touch?

How do they feel in the ear? Do they push deep or does it feel lighter on the ear? Asking because I don't really like in ear earpods, I prefer airpods-like ones. Does it feel kind of similar to those?
