Python are an awesome language, strong and easy, I stated learning data analysis in Python BUT when I stated leaning R ... my world changed and Every Thing became easy, less typing and logical. Easy libraries installation (in Rstudio), very beautiful Rmarkdown documents easy to deploy, ggplot2 (beautiful graphics), gmaps etc, shiny (dashboards). Text analysis super easy with quanteda library, easy loops with map function form purrr package and the dplyr (tidyverse) package that gives no chance to work with pandas. R is my choice but never setting aside python.

Siraj, Do you ever prototype in one language and then do full development in something else?

@Siraj what about octave. I think it's pretty good in terms of vectorization.

Thanks Siraj for this very helpful tips. I just started to learn ML and having some confusion on deciding which language to use. I have deep background on c++ but you are right, it's not an easy language to work around with. I think I will try to consider learning Python and Java Script.

My organisation currently does a lot of work in R, therefore I spend a lot of my time trying to get better at it. Should I try to practice Python on the side?

Hey SIraj I got a question, I understand if you can successfully setup java it runs faster than python. I heard some people have done data science tasks in Java. I was wondering if you could do an episode on it because my first OOP language was java and I'd love to see a talk on it here.

My issue is that the CUDA implementations in Python code don't allow for the full features of the CUDA language. For example, how do I run streams or cooperatives groups (CUDA stuff) in Python code? In other words, how do I run Python code, but still have access to the full features of CUDA Toolkit 9.
