The documentary film Ex Nihilo: The Truth About Money goes through how the current monetary system works, the consequences of such a system - and some ideas on how it could be reformed. Are we headed for a massive financial collapse, or can we fix things in time?

This was premiered in the British Parliament, in the House of Lords, in July 2023; it immediately received positive reviews. A truly sobering watch and, indeed worthy of being more widely understood by the public. The opening sample of interviews with people on the street highlights the fact that the vast majority of us live in ignorance of macro-economics and how its mismanagement can have huge consequences for most of us and, importantly how it can be exploited by those close to the levers that control it. Governments and economists must be fully cognisant of what they are doing and we would be complacent to think otherwise. Unfortunately, there must be a reckoning, the precise timing of which only God and perhaps a few central bankers and politicians will know. All we can do is make sure that we are as well prepared as possible.

Fantastic documentary, thank you. My only criticism is that given you are talking about the role of banks and the concept of QE, Richard Werner should really have been interviewed for this doco. He is the only one who has empirically proved how banks create money, as well as being the father of QE and also (again) doing the first empirical study that shows the POSITIVE correlation between interest rates and growth 👍

Unfortunately we tend to blame whatever party is in power for negative economic consequences that occur during their administration. They are ALL guilty.

How many politicians running for office talk about this? If any politician addresses this issue, we should vote for them.
