I use a mesh laundry bag ($2 at Walmart) to put my weeds in, pull the bag, let it dry (and unstink) and add it to the compost. 😅

I learned this trick from David the Good. He uses a 55-gallon barrel with a lid.

I do the same trick with worm tea, using a gizmo that screws onto the garden hose and automatically mixes the tea at a ratio of about 20:1 and spray it on my St. Augustin (trapped in auto-correct hell) grass, here in North Texas.

Local grocery stores give away 5 gallon food safe icing buckets (from the bakery) in my area. Starbucks gives away "grounds for gardens"

I started this method this year along with some other JADAM methods. So far the plants are responding positively. I also add weeds to the bottom of my containers to take up space and not have to use as much potting soil.

Also learned this from DTG but Eric, your quantities are much more manageable for me. Thanks for the video and the stinky tea recipe !

And don't stack your unused buckets... 😆...so stuck together. 🤦 I have some swamp soup that I made last summer. I covered it with a cloth and let it just sit there. We just moved to our homestead and I put a lid on it because my kids said if it spilled in the car, they would never ride with me again. I have to wear gloves when I pour the water off. The stink is really bad. I just added rotting peaches to it.

Questions: I have been soaking things (banana peels, avocado peels, orange peels, old lettuce, old cucumbers and any other fruit or vegetable that goes bad or gets peeled) outside in water in a 5 gallon bucket. I live in a 10a zone in Florida.

I’ve been using the condensed water drippings from my AC run off and adding a little bit of the liquid from the soaked veggies to water my potted vegetable plants, flowers and herbs when we don’t have rain. They’re surviving but I’m new at this. Some people say it’s not good for vegetable plants if I’m going to eat the veggies. But I see you doing that with the grass clippings. Why am I being told it’s not good?

Also after the bucket gets filled up I dump it in my compost pile and start over.

Another question: do you live near Plano? We will be visiting there soon.

It’s a hot mess when you rake out the chicken area you can do that also but the nitrogen is very potent so maybe 20 to 1. Just expect it to be strong. 😂

every time I have seen videos about tomato it is recommended not to get the leaves wet as that causes blight and grow indoors so that you use drip irrigation they don't like to get their leaves wet andand it was from folier feeding by the way have tried both watering from above and drip for tomatos and found they do get blight when the leves get wet and dont when using drip

I do the same but in a semipermeable bag weeds and horse manure in a 50 Gallon bucket for a few weeks where I water the vegetable patch with a watering can, then throw away if seeded weeds are in it, but if no seeds just add to compost bin.

Great show 👍

😉Wanta watch those bypass pruners - wear gloves for the first few years..
Check you're not introducing bugs, slugs, aphids, etc when layering with weeds..
Paint strainer (5gal size) for the brew..

Thank you, I'm excited to make a stinky mess... But, I thought I read somewhere that you need to use this kind of mix within a certain time frame or it becomes bad for the crops - do you have knowledge of this? Again, thank you.

Good day

Ok I’ll jump right to it
You made a chicken feeder out of pvc a while back.. looks great … it’s suppose to hold a weeks worth of feed… ok…
But one thing I see in yours and every other feeder like the one you made.. is no one addressed the fact that rodents can get in at the area where the chickens feed…
And leave their droppings … which is hazardous to chickens… so why don’t you address this … because it is eventually going to be a design flaw…
