Olympics organizers apologize to those offended by Paris opening ceremony

Paris Olympics organizers apologized to those offended by Friday’s opening ceremony, while defending the concept behind it.

The event’s artistic director Thomas Jolly distanced his vision from any “Last Supper” parallels, saying it was meant to celebrate diversity and global understanding as well as pay tribute to French gastronomy.

Glad they apologized for those who took offense and not for the act they did. It was the Feast of Dionysus, demonstrated by the fact that Dionysus was literally the center of attention. People that are offended by it should be asking more about the historical context than jumping to the conclusions that this is somehow about their religion. The organizers were trying to tie a Greek inspired event to Greek mythology and have no need to apologize

BS of it wasn't intentional they rehearsed it im sure several times so yeah it was purposefully done and the only thing it accomplished was humiliating the athletes and the countries involved in this blatant propaganda and blasphemy
