I was such a nerd in high school I finished early and got so bored I wrote an extra essay on the development of US tank destroyers on my APUSH exam.

I graded this year for an AP exam I won't name. Got quite a few completely blank essay sections, maybe 4-5 pictures or doodles (the only memorable one was a cartoon character, presumably a caricature of the kid, waving goodbye to a $100 bill flying away), and a couple of rants against their school/the public education system. One kid wrote a detailed accounting of his bathroom break, and another admitted failure, thanked me for hanging in there with grading, and wished me luck with the other essays.


I just wish they would have at least tried to get some of the easier points--we literally go by what's effectively a checklist, and some points are better than none.

At least for AP Chemistry, I was a grading machine. If the answer didn't have what I needed, I marked it a 0 and moved to the next. There were so many bizarre answers that none really come to mind.

I once had a history exam. That year we had been learning about the slave trade, WW1, interwar period and the build up to WW2. The exam was on the industrial revolution. The only reasons I was able to give a decent answer were that I had read a book that at one point compared a military industrial forging operation to a small knife being fixed by a bear, and I had watched that year's Dr Who Christmas Special.
You can't make it up.

A German Exam tasked us with naming 3 Famous German Music Artists and some of their more famous songs
What they expected: Beethoven, etc.
What they got: All sorts of German Nu Metal Bands.

On the AP Spanish test, I did not understand one of the conversation questions and just responded with "Un Gato". later while saying goodbye I said "Perdon Sobre el gato".

Wtf is European History? Like back in school I had an entire semester of history class about the crisis of the Roman republic from 134 BC to 44 BC.

I was an AP Lang grader. One kid created his own "language" and provided a key to his response. He got a zero because responses must be in English. If he had just spent that time to write in Engliah, the person probably would have passed. Had to be really smart to do what he did...

I am an ap lang student. no joke, my teacher tells us every class about just making up evidence and just make it believable. I over exaggerate my personal stories and will throw in random stuff. The making books up sounds about right

I recently took 4 exams. It went well, but on my AP Lit test, I kept scratching at my face, and ended up bleeding on my essay 😭. I circled the blood and wrote “sorry, biohazard” next to it
