Very cool DIY video (for someone about 1, 000x handier than me lol). I'm looking to purchase my first travel trailer and can't get past the 90+% of them in my size/budget range that have standard crappy leafs (although I did find one builder out west--OutdoorsRV, who makes all their trailers I believe with leafs, upgraded equalizers + shackles, and installs shocks, so that's pretty cool--haven't seen any other manufacturer do that), but alas, I'm destined to finding a trailer with either a torsion suspension or maybe a Lippert/Curt IS stock from the factory. Im doing this. Amazon has awesome heavy duty brackets for f250 and the top offset one. Itll let me make the lower shock 3-4” below axle to keep shock more upright. Its an always on the street cargo trailer so the lower ground clearance wont be an issue

Not only should those shock bolts to torqued *TIGHT* but also require use of lock nuts.
The shock's bushing is designed to relieve the torsion stress. The bushing sleeves *MUST* be fastened secure and static.

Would the same shock work if you moved the axle under the leaf springs to add clearance?
