John Jones.
Please correct me if incorrect, I may be mixing up his case with another.
The Nutty Putty.
John was exploring the Nutty Putty cave with his younger brother, and father. He came across a small hole, the birth canal. John decided he would enter, while his brother stayed behind John. Unfortunately, John took a wrong turn and ended up in the wrong area, Ed’s push. (Which I believe was named after John Edward Jones.)
Stuck in Ed’s push.
John had mistaken Ed’s Push for the Birth Canal, so he tried to get in that area, but unfortunately was too late to realize that wasn’t the right place. He couldn’t get out, the area was too narrow. John’s younger brother attempted to get him out, but the area was too narrow too, but just enough for John’s younger brother to climb out, and so he does that, and calls for help.
The struggle.
Help was on the way, and John was still stuck. After 4 hours someone came, an experienced spelunker came, and tied a rope to get John out, but she couldn’t, so she attempt to drill holes, to help him get out, but unfortunately, that doesn’t work either. Eventually, she gives up and a whole rescue team arrives. They allow John to talk with his wife, and he talks about how he will die, but then the rescue team of over a hundred people get to work. Keep in mind that he’s been stuck in this small hole for over a day now. Finally, the rescue team ties the rope around John, and it’s actually working! John may actually get out! Unfortunately, a rock falls and the rope breaks, and one of the metal rings snap and hit one of the members of the rescue team so hard, he falls unconscious. John’s father attempts to save John, but gets stuck in the cave for a small bit, and eventually gets out.
John’s case is getting worse.
It’s getting harder for John to breathe, so they must act quick. They send a paramedic down to check his vitals, and after 27 hours, all of that struggle.. was for nothing, because John is dead. The rescue team decides it’s too risky to rescue John, so they leave his body.
Ending
Honestly, it’s terrible this happened. Very sad. This all happened on November 24th, 2009. And his actual last words were “Hi susie, thanks for coming, but I really, really want to get out.” and “I’m going to die right here. I’m not going to come out of here, am I?”
Spelunking is dangerous, and I advise you don’t do it, because one day people may be explaining your story too.

For explanation, John Jones was a active cave explorer, and was going splunking in the nutty cave, there was one part named "the birth canal" where he was going. It's a very tight squeeze and was experienced in it. But accidentally he went to a unmapped part of the cave and was so tight, with a dead end. He couldn't turn and found a hole he thought was a exit, was a 6 feet hole. His feet caught him at the edge of the 1 ft wide hole and was stuck upside down for **50 hours**. There were attempts of saving him but failed. He died from blood going to his brain. A very horrific death.

For anyone wanting to know the john Jones case:
The John Jones case is a tragic incident that occurred on November 24, 2009, in Utah’s Nutty Putty Cave. John Jones, an experienced spelunker, became stuck headfirst while exploring a narrow area known as the "Birth Canal" in the cave, which is infamous for its tight, claustrophobic spaces. Despite extensive rescue efforts involving over 100 people and lasting more than 24 hours, rescuers were unable to free him. His position, upside down, caused severe strain on his body, and after prolonged efforts, John died from cardiac arrest on November 25, 2009. Following his death, Nutty Putty Cave was permanently sealed, and it now serves as a memorial to him.

John Jones got wedged in Nutty Putty Cave and died.
He went into a tight squeeze but accidentally got into an unmapped portion and unbeknownst to John, it’s path was going downward. So he was upside down and unable to move his body much. He continued following it believing he was in the “birth canal”, he was anticipating going through a tight squeeze and the path would open up. Unfortunately when he squeezed onto this path, it made a right angle downward and only got tighter and eventually dead ended. So as he continued wedging deeper in he eventually didn’t have much room for his body to maneuver back out.
His brother started trying to help him and John was making light of the situation and was in good spirits but everytime his brother got him maneuvered back some, John’s body would slip back downwards a little bit deeper than he was before. It took like 4hrs for rescue team to arrive and they called his wife who was pregnant I believe to come out she was able to talk to him using a phone from outside the cave. He was still in good spirits but had resigned to the fact that he may not make it out alive. The rescuers were successful at pulling John out multiple times but once they backed him into the opening his legs couldn’t bend enough to be able to pull him over the angle downward. The squeeze downward was tight enough there wasn’t room to bed his knees to get them over the sharp 90 degree turn. They even attached pulleys to his legs and pulled him but once his boots got to the angled opening, they had to stop otherwise it was going to break Johns legs and John was screaming out in agony. I believe they contemplated just breaking his legs to get him out but they really couldn’t get his legs anywhere out of the opening so there was no way to manuever him even with broken legs.
John had been in pretty good spirits and he had been able to drink some fluids but eventually he started to get angry and panic then he was starting to get delirious and incoherent. They tried some other things and at some point one of the pulleys broke loose and hit a rescue worker so hard in his head it knocked him unconscious.
Pretty much after that John was not communicating back or responding and the sent EMS to check his vitals and he was dead. He died a really horrible painful death. Human bodies aren’t meant to be upside down that long and eventually your heart will give out bc our heart isn’t designed to pump blood from our heads against gravity. Either that or your lungs can fill with fluid and you suffocate. I imagine he passed from a combination of both. Really unfortunate.

Listening to the stories about what happened is one of those that are so intense that you feel mentally exhausted by the end. It was so intense getting a play by play of how long he was stuck and how so many people attempted to save him. I feel so bad for the suffering he went through.
They still couldn’t unwedge his body after he died so they had to leave his body in the cave and the sealed the cave and closed it to the public.
