OK folks the huge, property tax hikes, along with the huge insurance rate increases in Florida did not happen overnight. It’s been a long time coming and the climate has quite a bit to do with it, as the number of tropical name storms have quadrupled since the 1980s. Insurance companies can only take so many multi billion dollar losses a year. Plus building standards don’t change and people keep rebuilding the same style of insufficient housing for our environment over and over. The property tax hikes a hurry because you don’t have a state income tax house they’re gonna fund the state?

To say "they simply want ppl to lose their homes" is hyperbole because nobody "wants" homeowners to lose anything. Companies simply don't want to go out of business because of claims. Framing the situation this way is irresponsible.
