Changes in routine
Fel:
1. Stopped using Sulfur drying lotions. She now prefers exfoliating toners but the toner she uses still depends on what she thinks she needs that morning/night (whether hydrating/exfoliating etc). Spot treats w paulas choice bha 9.
2. Instead of having salicylic acid in almost all steps of her routine ( SA cleansers), she now just uses it on treatments along w a gentle cleanser and gentle moisturizer.
3. Peel-off masks or nose pore strips are not the best way to get rid of blackheads/ whiteheads. It’s fun but it doesn’t give much. Gentle chemical exfoliants are better.
Rowena:
1. Realized she was over exfoliating with chemicals (triple sheet mask). Now only use hydrating mask then moisturizer.
2. 10 step skin care routine is too many steps in a routine. More is not better (esp serums). Streamline the skincare routine. Calm cleanser. Great toner. Hydrating serum. Hydrating Moisturiser. That’s all she really needed.
3. Stopped using exfoliating ingredients daily (glycolic acid, lactic acid, ahas and bhas in general). Now only applies them once or twice a week.

Special note: Their routine now is 80% HYDRATING, 20% all else. 😂

It's so satisfying for me and for my wallet to hear that there are steps in a skincare routine that are not necessary THANK YOUUU!!!🙌

What I find from watching Dr Dray is that you don't need to use the same 10 products everyday, you just need to be consistent with those 10 products, like if you use retinol for two nights in a row take those following two nights to use vitamin c etc

When rowena said you should let yourself shine through i felt that OMG i used to do that 10 step routine but now I listened to my skin and just use what I feel needs it and its so much brighter and clearer now.

Loving how active Fel has been in the comments here - can you do it more often?

I gave up scrubs and random acne gels I used to use as a teen. I don't ger breakouts anymore and have dry skin now, my skin seems to have taken a back flip from acne prone to dry

I recently finally pulled the trigger and bought a couple skin care products you two recommended. This may sound a little dramatic but I always kinda really felt terrible about buying myself stuff like this or that I even cared about stuff like this. At first I would watch your guys videos here and there, eventually I subscribed and started to watch your videos more often till I was watching you guys on the daily, rewatching many videos with a notebook and pen for months learning. I still felt bad to actually buy and try out anything. I don't know if it was low self esteem or not wanting to come off as shallow, self centered, or selfish I just couldn't do it. I kinda always had a personal issue with self care. Anyway I finally found a moment of courage and clicked on the links before I lost it. I felt so happy, excited, and relief afterwards and I truly think I wouldn't have if it wasn't for you Ro, Fel and the rest of the Bueaty Within team, THANKYOU! I dont know you'll get a chance to see this but I still wanted to express my gratitude.🖤🖤🖤 My products arrived and can't wait to try them out!

Oh my gosh, I’m a dehydrated skin girl and for me it happened after I turned 30. I remember when it started and as I tried to find a solution everyone always told me to exfoliate so I did it a lot, with masks for longer and longer yet it didn’t help! It wasn’t until I started with an organic nourishing face oil and toner that my skin felt good. I mean if your skin is dry and you keep exfoliating without finding the right nourishment it needs you’re stuck in limbo. Thank you for sharing! 💛

Love this video! Fel's step changes are literally the same as mine. I used to have very oily combo acne prone skin, but over the years I've noticed my skin has gotten drier. And these changed steps literally saved my skin. Just a suggestion for a future video, would love to see a weeks worth of skincare routines from each of you? Just cause I know there's so many different products, it'd be nice to see how and when you use each item throughout the week, depending on how you feel.

For a gentle but effective acne remedy- I use Votary blemish rescue oil. It's so fantastic because it isn't crazy drying but it really gets down-under.

Thank you Fel & Ro for creating such informative and interesting videos on Skincare and Welness :) If there's one thing good out of this quarantine, its learning more about skincare as a 28 year old!

Considering how much you've simplified your routines, would you still use retinol at night?

THANK you for this video! i feel like we are always moving from trend to trend but no one explains WHY the old one fell out of fashion (because we have something better? or because we've learned how not-so-great it was?) also rowena what kind of nail do you have on your index finger??? that 3d geometric design is 😍

Brilliant, as always! And so good to know that even experts like you both know to change and move away from things that were once considered necessary for a good skin care regimen. xo

Hi Felicia and Rowena! Can you do a skin care video for people working in the night shift? The day and night time skin care routine is confusing. Will a day time product that you use be as effective if I use it on my day time (your night time) and vice versa? Please help your girl out!!
