As a Katrina survivor and a New Orleans native who has rode out many storms this is by far the most devastating aftermath I have ever seen . My heart breaks for my Americans who were devastated by this storm . I’m so sorry .

A lot will vote for the same politicians that almost don't want the federal government to help them when in need.

I am from INDIANA, as a Marine I have been through 2 Hurricanes and 2 Typhoons during my service. I also use to go to this area on 96 hour passes, beautiful place and people.
This is DEVASTATION UTTERLY DESTROYED, MOST PEOPLE ARE CUT OFF FROM OUTSIDE THEIR OWN " HOME" IF IT'S STILL STANDING AND SAFE TO BE " IN"!!
ARMY AND MARINE UNITS ARE STATIONED IN " NORTH CAROLINA " WITH HELICOPTERS THEY SHOULD'VE BEEN THERE DAY #1. SOMEONE DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS!!

Let's not ignore that Mike Johnson refuses to call Congress back from time off to help deal with this disaster.

The harsh reality of the storm is not just the flooding. It’s the terrain in which it took place unlike Florida or New Orleans, which is largely flat terrain. This area contains hills and streams and roads that can flood and wash out easily.

I know what North Carolina and East Tennessee looks like. These people are in shock. I am from that area. This is a area that is mountains with mostly 2 lane roads that connect East Tennessee and North Carolina. There are l lane roads that connect communities that are total washed away. They would never thought that this would happen.

Mountain terrain the size of Massachusetts. May god bless those people.

Republicans shouldn’t have voted against the FEMA bill and Speaker Johnson should want to call congress back in session

As a native of south Louisiana who lived less than 40 miles from New Orleans during Katrina, this was much worse than Katrina. We didn’t have those rivers joining together and rushing down a mountain causing rock slides and mud slides taking everything with it. We had days of warnings while they only had hours. We did have FEMA who helped people who could reach wherever they were in an out of the way place after they filled out their paperwork. This is much much worse and I pray for the continued survival of these victims.
