Former President Trump and other Republicans have criticized FEMA for its response to Hurricane Helene, claiming that the agency is providing only $750 in aid to affected individuals. In response, FEMA has launched a new webpage to clarify the facts regarding hurricane recovery efforts. NBC’s Antonia Hylton reports for TODAY.

Maybe they should consider launching an effort to combat Hurricane Helene DAMAGE instead?

Everyone needs to watch the FEMA zoom meeting. They feel only certain groups deserve help. It will explain everything to you.

Why was the reported deaths cut by 50% in Asheville? One county is reporting zero deaths....except one of their deputies showed up at a morgue with 3 bodies in a pick up truck bed. Just report the accurate death rate Government. Why were over 90% of the flights private aircraft? This is not political- minimal help from both sides. Maximum help from private organizations like cajun navy and SP.

If she spent as much effort on the response to emergencies as she does to labeling criticism as "misinformation", all the victims of the hurricane would have been helped by now.

I have family in NC and they say that FEMA assistance has been unreliable especially for those in the remote areas hit hardest. This video is not accurate. FEMA funds will be needed in FL soon. I hope the present administration will use the tax now being sent to other countries and to support undocumented allowed into our country, to take care of US citizens that paid into those taxes first.

But they don't launch an effort to help people. They're hindering the people who are actually trying to help people in need

Remember 2020. The government deeply cares about our safety and well being and can be trusted at all times.

FEMA is more concerned with spreading propaganda than with helping people.

How about addressing the real problem, feet on the street with supplies. Not worry about propaganda.

Maybe FEMA should give the money back, they don't need 20 billion dollars a year...

Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Approves Florida Emergency Declaration. Why couldn't he do this for Helene? Why did KJP say Congress had to do their job?

He never said it was diverted. He said you would have had more money TO BEGIN WITH.

Thankyou

Helene's damage seems to be as bad as Hurricane Agnes that hit the Southern Tier of NYS in 1972. Like Helene, Agnes caused disastrous flooding in many in land areas of NY, PA, MD & VA in addition to FL. It was a bit before my time, but my parents and older sisters lived through it. They lost almost everything and my mom had PTSD from it. They had to start over with some government help. Whatever they're NOT doing, the government needs to check the records on how past floods like Agnes and Katrina were handled, for example, and try to duplicate it. My parents talked about how the neighbors helped each other out. Those with boats were rescuing people from their homes and taking them to higher ground. They were bused to a hotel in a neighboring town who let them stay there. They said they were always grateful for the help The Red Cross gave them. They got a 1% interest govenment loan to buy another house. Why am I not hearing stories like this in this situation?

Sitting hearing the Shephards purse, billy grahsms efforts are wonderful, but FEMA is not doing anything. But the truth is the billions of dollars FEMA has, and help systems, far oustrips the amount of help private sector propagsnda based help!
