It's the end of 2022 and I wanted to share some of the skincare products that really stood out to me as a dermatologist. I'm a licensed esthetician and here's my 2022 favorites :)

1st cleanse: make p:rem safe me cleansing oil, KEYS soulcare cleansing balm

2nd cleanse: Naturium niacinamide cleansing gelee, beauty pie super healthy skin foaming cleanser, dermalogica special cleansing gel

Exfoliants: dermalogica microfoliant, paula's choice 25% AHA 2% BHA

Retinols: DermAware A+ smart serum (doubles as a vitamin C serum), Naturium retinaldehyde serum, beauty pie super retinol serum with ceramides

Hydrating/calming serums: pyunkang yul calming serum, naturium vitamin k serum, paula's choice calm serum, aveeno calm and restore

Moisturizers: DermAware blemish banisher hydrator, beauty pie triple hyaluronic acid cream, dermalogica calm water gel, naturium multi-peptide moisturizer

SPF: DRMTLGY tinted mineral spf, isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel, cosrx aloe soothing sun cream

And a giant shoutout to naturium lip balms

The Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm is soo nice. Gets off all makeup and no blurry eyes!

So thankful for you! I completely changed my skincare routine this year; I incorporated daily sunscreen usage, vitamin c, tretinoin, and salicylic acid. My skin has never looked so clear, and this is coming from someone prone to hormonal acne and excessive oil production! Can not thank you enough for your videos! 🤍

3. Purito Sunscreen

I also began getting facials more and it has CHANGED my skin. I’ve been using Tret since last September and still struggled with acne. Facials helped to extract my very stubborn clogs and clear me up.

In 2023 I would love to see you do a review of the new anti-aging products in the Gold Bond line. I have been impressed with the feel and absorption of a few items I’m trying out now. They are so affordable and are fragrance-free.

Some of my skincare faves are:

- Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads (I am careful not to overuse them)

- Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (my beloved CeraVe started to burn my skin a bit, but this one is SO nice!)

- Japanese Korean sunscreens! I’m from Canada and all the North American SPFs I’ve tried have BURNED my eyes so badly. 2022 was the year I discovered Japanese/Korean sunscreens and I am never looking back!

- Aquaphor: sometimes I use this to seal in my eye cream, but most often I use it on my lips.

A lot of Dermatologists rave about Rovectin products, but they trigger fungal acne for me. Ditto for Naturium glow getter.

I love seeing the Evy here. Love that one, too! I usually use Laroche-Posay UVMUNE 400 SPF 50 for my face (bought off Amazon UK, of course…) but when I’m concerned I won’t easily get to reapply, Evy is amazing.

I love a foam/bubble cleanser and the Etude House Soon Jung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser is amazing. It is a holy grail in the K-beauty community bc It's soo gentle, fragrance free and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. It's a great morning, 2nd cleanse or only cleanse on no makeup days.

Ugh, I also struggle with the "this moisturizer is amazing until a week later when I get weird red pimples only on my cheek contour" phenomenon. Especially during winter when I feel the need to use richer products with more fatty components.
