So, you've probably heard a bunch of reviewers teasing Samsung about the Galaxy Watch Ultra calling it a copy of the Apple Watch Ultra. Samsung might have taken some design inspiration from other watches for the Galaxy Watch Ultra including Apple's. But to say it's a blatant copy is, frankly, ignorant and ridiculous. Here's why.

On a "color circle" orange is the "complementary color" or "opposite color" to blue. They sit opposed to each other in the world of colors. Orange and Blue are, Green and Red are, etc. You can look it up. What that means is that if you put those "complementary colors" next to each other, they have the biggest contrast, and are instantly noticeable. That's why you have Green and Red traffic lights for example...and also why you would have an Orange armband on a watch when swimming in a Blue body of water (ocean, sea, pool, etc.). Why do you think lifebuoy's are Orange, or life rafts are Orange, or lifeguard floats are Orange. It's to have the maximum contrast to open water (which is usually Blue).

So having said that, "style" is actually secondary, and it's irrelevant "who copied who". There is a clear primary purpose for the color choice, and all companies can use it.

It's not the way the case looks, it's the orange dial and the straps. Not saying who copies who, but both Apple and Samsung now have similar designs and that sucks because it's just less unique. They also went with a much closer Apple-like earbuds this generation too. Kind of lame. I liked the no stem earbuds they were doing.

My comment for any Galaxy Watch Ultra: For those who are saying that the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a copy of Apple's Watch Ultra, search the Samsung Gear Sport. It looks exactly like that. If anything, it looks more like a Panerai Radiomir. The orange band, the button and titanium are from Garmin, but the button being orang is from Apple, though.

I pre-ordered mine, $400 in discounts/trade in. I cannot wait to get mine. Personally I like the orange band just for when I go on a bicycle ride, 48 miles total, it's very visible. My current watch though, OnePlus Watch 2 is not as loud (or the Classic 6 I had) as the Classic 6 and the Classic 6 was not loud compared to when I had the apple watch ultra, the vibration and how loud it was, made it so that I never miss a notification. Judging by the size and speakers on the Galaxy Ultra, I'm sure this is the right choice for me, and I'm glad the battery could last up to 100 hours.
