Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Real 24 Hour Review - Upgrading from Watch 5 PRO - First Impressions

I just got my new Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and I'm giving you a fresh out of the box perspective, comparing it to my Watch 5 pro and my Garmin Instinct 2X. I took advantage of Samsung's great trade in credit for my Watch 5 pro since I haven't really been using it lately. Is the Watch Ultra worth the high price and is it really any better than the Watch 5 pro for the money? Watch and see what you think. My answer may surprise you.

I agree, if it wasn't for that amazing trade in price and extra bonuses during pre-order I most likely wouldn't had upgraded from my Watch 5 Pro. I do love the new band attach / remove method on the ultra (Owning a Apple Watch alongside my Galaxy Watch made me dislike the way the Galaxy did their bands). However, that wouldn't had enticed me to buy it for $650 + tax. Honestly, I don't know if I'm in the minority here but the Galaxy Ultra doesn't feel that much bigger like some people made it seem.

Love the trail band though, they provided a white trail, my side order orange trail just arrived today, will rotate wearing them 😊
Marine band is v comfortable, using it for workout. All the original bands are nice nevertheless 👍

Nice! First review I've seen showcasing the Peakform band. Appreciate your no-BS approach. I just ordered the same, but with the Titanium Silver case. Upgrading from a S3 Frontier.

I was a daily driver of the 5 pro and traded it in for the ultra. Noticeably faster. It may seem like a small thing but the wake from sleep actually works without an exaggerated move. I don't use always on display to save battery but I may not need it with the ultra. It's doing better in that regard compared to the 5 pro as well. There are many watch faces to choose from on the play store for free or very little money . Non-issue regarding your choice of faces. I transferred over my LTE that I had on the 5 pro with no issue. I'm rocking the Ultra Analog at the moment. soo much info. I do prefer the digital time so I'll be on the lookout for a good digital face with similar info. TBH I'd never get it if it was not for that insane trade in of $350 for the 5 pro. As Flossy says "Samsung, it's to G0d dang much!" And where is my charger Samsung? For 650 I want a charger. LOL

I still think the Garmin is a better purchase especially the epix and fenix lines, they hold their value a lot better ., right now you can get a galaxy 5 pro for 100 bucks on ebay. fenix 7x ss still go for 500 bucks .. also the battery life is significantly better on the garmins (2 to 4 weeks)

i don't understand why peole like the rotating bezel so much as the clicks (on the Galaxy watch 4 classic) are not consistent at all.
i assumed that the watch would respond to each rotating click (no matter how fast you would rotate it) but no, many times it doesn't respond to a click.
now sure, first i thought i just had a faulty one but my dad also got a Galaxy watch 4 classic and it's the exact same story on his one.

Sending my back. Battery is nothing like advertised. I use my intensely and my watch 6 classic although smaller battery, lasts longer. Wore ultra for a week. Very disappointed.

I'm happy with the Ultra, but I don't use any of its health features as they were immediately disabled along with Bixby. I needed a smartwatch that was not as janky as the watch5 pro was iand the ultra solved that issue. I did get 5 days of battery use on a single charge with my Ultra just like with the watch5 pro.

I never used the rotating bezel on the 6 classic . that's why i traded it in for the ultra . The speakers are better quality and louder than the 5 pro and 6 classic. I got the orange bamd with it, but there was no option to get a different colour band, so i ordered the dark grey peakform band at half price, but gotta wait until 4th August as its out of stock

Thx for the review. I keep upgrading the Samsung watches because of LTE. I can go biking without taking my cell phone and still have text/voice capability. Otherwise I would probably go with a Garmin. The Garmin battery lasts like, a week? I'm not sure why Samsung can't solve that puzzle. Unless it's an LTE thing. Cheers.

I also have a Watch 5 Pro but only the bluetooth version. Samsung is still offering the $350 trade in credit so im seriously considering trading in just to get the LTE support.
