The way the new watch band works is way better than the old system. Inhave have had the galaxy 5 pro for the last 2 years and one of the biggest problems i had with it was after doing stuff in dusty and dirty conditions the dust would get between the band and the watch and collect along the lugs too. With the new band design dirt and dust cant get between the watch and the strap. It is so much better if you go outdoorsy stuff in dirty or dusty environments.

The lack of a rotating bezel is also good for this because it means there isnt something that dust and crap can get under. The bezel has also been known to fall off sometimes and that isn't acceptable for a rugged outdoorsy watch.

I personally don't want all my notifications to go to my watch, I want messages and calls. That's it. I don't junk email and other useless stuff buzzing my wrist all day

I got the Galaxy Watch Ultra and so far I have managed to squeeze 5 days of battery life out of a single charge, but with that being said I care less about the optional health features so those were immediately disabled along with gimmicky Bixby. Also, removed some Samsung bloat and Microsoft bloat and went through the permissions and disabled a lot of stuff that was not needed or stuff I will never use. If you're serious about your health information you wouldn't use a Samsung watch in the first place.

My watch 5 pro has no problems sending me notifications within seconds of getting it. I've had no issues.

Never used reverse wireless charging so its not a problem or issue for me. Great watch though.

there are already 100's of watchbands for the Ultra on aliexpress and temu, prices between 8 and 15 dollars, even for steel bands

with aod enabled, 2 days tops. with aod disabled, then closer to 3 days tops.

wifi disable when not using it for big downloads. so you will use bluetooth all the time (needs to be in range of your galaxy smartphone)

gps disable when not going outdoors.

google assistant stop it running in background. You can still access when needed, but when not using, disable. This is under the premise you don't want to have google assistant active all the time to react to your commands. You can use that feature if you want, but it uses up a lot of battery. For me i disabled it running in background, since i don't use it much. I'd just run it from smartphone which has a bigger battery to cope.

If you want to do deep diving, get a apple ultra instead. This is under the assumption you have an apple smartphone then making that choice more obvious.

If you want to have the battery last longer than the galaxy ultra, maybe a Garmin?

for myself i went with the galaxy ultra. expensive yes. but it fit my needs fine. I have to charge it every 2 days from 30 to 80% which takes between 1-2 hours to do.

No, you didn't have notifications because you have a lockscreen. Disable wrist detection. Is someone going to steal your watch off your wrist and buy something?

For what it's worth, the reverse wireless charging is broken on the non-Ultra Galaxy Watch 7 also. They claim it's due to the new HR sensor.

Great content. As for the no bezel. If you never had one like on my watch4 44mm, then you're not missing it. I love this 7ultra watch. As for the band, this is the best band samsung has ever made. Not even apple's Ultra bands can touch it. Take the apple's ultra band if you have the watch4 44mm wiggle it around and see how the corners move. Not with the 7ultra bands. Not even with the 3rd party bands. Super secure.

While it's good to know about the new band attached system, I actually prefer it. Before, the only time I changed a watch band was when the old one wore out. With the new system, I can easily change out the one I use for work to a band that looks nicer when the need arises.

I think the thing with the Ultra watch is that its a completely new watch. Its not an upgrade of a previous watch nor is it meant to replace the classic. New form factor, new band design, new buttons. The classic will be the classic with the rotating bezel, the regular watch has no bezel.

Guys can i use this an a fully independent phone without WIFI or Bluetooth if i convert my SIM to ESIM? Currently i have a full android smartwatch with a nano sim slot because i did not like the limitations of wear OS and i wanted to use it as a fully functioning phone.
Also how are the apps on wear OS ? Can other apps from the play store still function even if they are not designed for wear os?
On my Chinese Android watch i can use revolute, but i guess since this watch does not have a camera i wont be able to use revolute since no selfie verification is possible?
With my Chinese Android watch i can do everything the downsides are screen quality and battery life but it only cost me 80 Euros. This is way more expensive so i need answers to these questions before i invest in it cheers.
