It really is astonishing that so many people don't understand the fact the more people in the pool the cheaper it is for everyone.

Brilliantly clear, persuasive, and sane. Robert Reich is doing heroic service for the people of the United States.

Two things employers should have no control over. Pensions. And healthcare.

Robert, you are so great at taking complex issues and breaking them down into easy, understandable concepts. The profit motive for insurance companies and pharmaceuticals is the single worst thing about them. I am a nurse and I support M4A!

Take Warren off that list of two people. She's waivering. Bernie is the only true Medicare for All candidate for POTUS in 2020.

The fact is far poorer countries cover the health care of their citizens. That's all the evidence anyone should need.

800 per month family of 4 here just in premiums. (40 co-pay, 80 specialist, 10 meds.) This premium consist of a deductible of 2500 for hospitalization. (500 per night, 5 nights will max out my deductible per annum.)

Until politicians stop taking money from insurance lobbyists, "we are screwed".

Not proposed by Warren though, she is waffling on it..
Bernie “wrote the damn bill”
I encourage everyone to go and read the bill he proposed!

My wife and I were being eaten alive by health insurance and healthcare costs. And we're healthy. Two years ago, we moved back to the UK after 21 years in the States. Our NHS is not without its issues but it is fabulous - *fabulous* compared to what we had in the States. Costs are far lower. Prescriptions are about $11 dollars each flat rate and there are no out of pocket expenses. My mother needed emergency open heart surgery and an extended ICU stay and had no costs. Her surgery was when she was already elderly in 1996 and she survived for 22 years with constant free follow-up care and was still heart healthy when she passed away. When people in the media and politicians tell you to fear European "socialized healthcare", they're lying, sadly.

Great video. But I wouldn’t lump Bernie’s plan with Warren’s. His is far superior.

My experiences with my insurance companies (they changed with every job)... have all been f*cking nightmares! Sorry, but true. I've grown to HATE them all.

I’m on Medicare, plus a cost-effective supplemental (I did my due diligence and found the perfect option for me). Two years in, including a couple of ER visits, multiple minor illnesses and doctor visits, multiple medications for pre-existing conditions, and I couldn’t be happier with the coverage and the lack of bureaucratic paperwork. I absolutely do not understand how this is even a partisan issue, other than too many Republican lawmakers must be in the pockets of for-profit health insurance companies.

I wish our politician can be more like this guy!

Just went from State of Virginia health insurance to a private HMO plan + health savings account, due to a job change. Ugh. I now see why people are in such an uproar about "bad coverage and high deductibles." Current care sucks so bad that I'm now one of those who is having to withhold going to doctors (for financial reasons) despite needing care. FULL Medicare for All, please.

This is the best video you've done yet. We need more informative videos like this coming from you Mr Reich. Have a nice day.

Currently uninsured, I have to wait two more days to enroll under my husband's coverage through his job.

I very badly need a tooth extraction. All told, the cheapest option available to me right now is to spend $600 I don't have.

I'm a Canadian and it works. You need the same system in the U.S.

As a Canadian, I can honestly say it’s nice being able to go to the hospital and not get hit with a crippling bill. My sister had kidney stones last year and found out that if she lived in the US, her treatment would’ve cost over $10, 000 before medication, follow up appointments, etc.
