As usual, the reporter feels sorry for the drug trafficker
and this gentleman is concerned about families

2:30 he said "Pilloried" not "Pillaged"

A pillory is the wooden frame they stuck your head and hands in for getting rotten produce thrown at you, or simply other abuse at the hands of the public.

After living in Canada and seeing thousands of people living on the streets due to drug addiction, I am so glad Singapore maintained a "no-nonsense" policy towards drugs. For that, thank you Mr Lee. Prudent

Walk for a few minutes through downtown Baltimore, Vancouver Canada, Philadelphia, etc., and you will understand this man very well.

For all the pain and suffering the traffickers bring into Singapore, for all the families destroyed, childhoods scarred..."ONE DEATH IS TOO KIND"

Exactly my point. You feel sorry for smugglers. We feel sorry for the thousands of families that are destroyed and killed every day by drugs.

Can't mess with him. He's always got the facts and actual figures. He don't assume.

This man changed a swampy fishing village of traders into the most developed place on earth without any oil, gas or diamonds. Mad respect.

"One death is too kind."
Yes, it's too kind. The damage to society, families, and individuals for many years, because of drug addiciton, is the real tragedy.

I didn't know him before just now, but the way he spoke, with such strong conviction, and the fact that Singapore is such a safe and peaceful place, , I totally respect this man!

In the West, there seems to be endless compassion and concern for the human rights of the criminal without any regard for the rights of the victims of crime.

I remember when I was little I went to watch a film with my family in Singapore and this was around the time that Lee Kuan Yew had passed. During the pre-movie advertisements that showed, they suddenly played a sort of ode to commemorate for his recent death and, I kid you not, almost everyone in the cinema hall immediately stood up as they screened his face, in respect to his service and memory.

It was truly a very magical moment and it really goes to show how deeply Singaporeans admire and adore this one man who made their country what it is today.

He raised a pretty good point when he pointed out that criminals knew the risk but still brought drugs, therefore the rewards must be worth the risk.
