Side delt is a loner, front has triceps and some chest involved, rear has upper back (or lats in some cases), but side delt has no additional help. so yes, even though it's larger is size, it's less efficient in it's movement.

Lateral Raises serve the prime function of keeping a man as humble as he could be in the gym.

Side delts should be the main focus when you do shoulders, so you should never leave them last. Front delts and rear delts get cooked when you do chest and back (especially the front delts) so those aren’t that important to isolate.

Whats funny is the side delt is the most important fir the overall huge delt look. Hit them first.

To be fair, front and back delt excercises typically involve multiple other muscles, isolating delt excercises will always be humiliating but make em stronger (or hurt you like it happened to me:))

Middle delts can cause shoulder injury if you grip from palms so what I like to do which is also safe is that I wear the handle in my wrist till near elbow and do side delts that way. it might help

First time I tried to do my side dealts I really thought I could raise 15lbs and let’s just say I was humbled back to 5lbs

Swap lateral and rear and I can relate

Overall best: Front
Hardest to Grow: Rear
Hardest to Train: Side

If you find cable lateral raise too hard you can use a cuff on the wrist and it changes the leverages making it easier to pull one plate on the stack.

Lmao so true. Strict form on side delts will humble you

Because they are small af actually and are not really involved in any compound movement

I find rear delt skiers really fire my rear delts like nothing else. I've never actually felt them fire until I did rear delt skiers.

You don’t need to directly train front delts because they’re already sufficiently stimulated during any chest movement.

Also, there is no difference between no lean and leaning away in terms of tension on the lateral delt. It’d be more beneficial to lean into the cable track than away from it.
