An interesting story about the magical inception of the song and the debate on how to publish it.

Actually, it has often been written that the original title was "Srambled Eggs'.
Incorrect !
The original title was in fact: 'Soft Boiled Eggs'.

The tune he had in his head was art of Nat King Cole's Answer Me My Love. It wasn't a complete ripoff. But, if he wondered what it that tune was in his head, that was it. He might have heard it long ago as a kid.

Oh I believe in scrambled eggs.... Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be, there's a shadow hanging over me, I need my protein from scrambled eggs.

I apologize to Paul for butchering this amazing song with a silly egg pun but just my little way of enjoying how great this song is.

True Brilliance is usually found in simplicity. This song is the simplest of sentiment but it dives so deep in the heart and mind. Who doesn't reflect on the power of their yesterdays at some point in their life?

The song was a gift from God to Paul, then to the band, then to the world.

"Yesterday" is one of those songs that is melodically gorgeous in a sort of divine way. The way it goes, with that sexy walk-down of 6-5-2-5-1, has a certain character to it that I can't explain with words. It's as if the tension-resolve is like a movie with a perfect plot twist. As if everything is in its perfect place, and all I can think is... "YES!"
