The reason so many people do dumb shit in front of cops is because people have become so self-absorbed that they don't even realize that they are driving like a moron. I would bet at least half of these people were truly shocked or surprised when they got pulled over and genuinely had no idea they had done anything wrong. In my 40 mile commute I see at least 2 people a day nearly cause bad accidents driving like they are the only one on the road and they just drive away not even noticing the other people swerving trying to avoid hitting their stupid asses. A lot of the time a phone is involved.
