My theory:
He committed suicide. There is no way a 12 y.o. would overpower a Soljie and took his gun and shot him. Lets get that straight. He the soldier might have had a quarrel with his grown mate when the underage info came out and he drove himself to the location and kill himself. If someone else killed him that person would have blood on their clothing and they would need help in leaving the scene of the crime.
