I can’t believe that I am so jealous as that ride is usually so short and I wish that it can last more. So if I am in that ride, it basically my wish come true in bad way (but worth it, especially no pain) AND I am deaf so I may not realizing it is stuck running but definitely being amazed at fact it last much longer.

"It's the latest in a series of amusement park accidents..." that mainstream media has chosen to highlight. These accidents happen all of the time, but the main news outlets typically follow reports about one problem with others. It's not about amusement park safety. It's about news ratings.

E Stop is the first thing we learned about when I worked at a theme park. How and when to press it. There is everything else we do before that though.

I literally watched a million videos on amusement rides breaking down. This is why I don't ride them, as there is a good chance you can literally get hurt!

Honestly would love to be on a ride that doesn't stop

Reminds me of my best friend's old washing machine where it malfunctioned in a way that it won't stop going on spin despite attempts to stop it. That must've been quite a dizzying situation.

3 to 4 extra minutes sounds about perfect.

The insight that man gave us halfway through is invaulable. Realizing that a crack is not good is just not something I would've thought.

This also happened years ago with the old _Caterpillar_ ride quite a few times... It wouldn't stop, nor would the top shroud that closes over the cars and riders during operation (thus giving the flat ride its characteristic name), reopen... They always had to cut the power, then raise the shroud manually... This, and far too much high maintenance are the reasons they got rid of it!

I use to go to Rye Playland when I was a kid many times. Didn't ever have any safety issues with any of the rides. However these things do happen.

The seatbelt came undone in my Music Express ride. I knew I wasn’t going to fall out but my friend was sitting next to me and so I did everything I could to prevent him from flying out of the car.

That’s why I don’t go to the fair because they don’t change the rides out and some amusement parks don’t either so that’s what probably caused them to do that because they don’t fix the rides. They just use the old ones.,

I wouldn't mind these kind of malfuctions prefer it over a drop tower malfuction😨

Can't they just pull the plug and cut the power to the ride? 🤔

This is not a surprise. When I was in junior high I rode one ride at Rye that malfunctioned upside down and me and sibling and the other riders were stuck until it was fixed. Bad experience.
