the comedy here is because for polish person this is completly normal when dealing with administration, they will not help you if they can refuse you. this is perfectly depicted in comedy sketch: "Swiat wedlug kiepskich - biurokracja"

2:05 I saw that confusion :D Polish is a very gendered language (in a similar way English calls ship a "she"), so "Mławianin" and "Mławianka" can be translated to a "male / female citizen of Mława" respectively.

KMN is known for its wordplay, sometimes you need to be fluent in Polish to comprehend the exact meaning of the given situation. English translation does not always cover it.

The "robe" joke is hard to translate. He couldn't find the word to describe his sweater so he used the archaic Polish word "kontusz" which means a piece of clothing worn by 16th century male nobility. This is why they asked him if he has a horse nearby. "Robe" doesn't have the same implication in English I think, so it's hard to get the joke being about old historical garb.

Sometimes it's like this. One evening I went to a pizzeria with my friends. They were about to close, so they said they wouldn't serve us anymore. So we sat on the windowsill and called this pizzeria and ordered a pizza by phone. They did it and they brought it. :D

I love your reactions to Polish content. It's nice to see you really trying hard to understand our weird-twisted humor, which isn't easy😅

Rob, remember pandemic?? Police told me in the Streatham Common Park to walk apart with me girlfriend, 2m apart, n I told them that we sleep in same bed, n they still told us to walk apart. That was similar situation...

I had exactly the same situation not that long ago in England. I was at the desk of some institution.
Lady: Hello do you have a reservation with us?
Me: No, but I'd like to make one.
Lady: We accept only online booking.
Me: But I'm already here. And strongly prefer to speak in person.
Lady: Well yes but I can only process online reservations.
So I sat there, made a reservation on my phone and went back to her. She said "Ah, hello Sir. I see you have a reservation with us..." Most peculiar experience.
Bloody technology!

That's how you get an appointment with a GP in England. If you turn up they will tell to call.

I had this type of situation, I wanted to end a contract, I went to the office, signed the documents and thought I would receive confirmation in writing. But they didn't give it to me because they send confirmations by registered mail!

The best Polish comedy group (we call it cabaret) is definitely Hrabi. They are just the best.

05:19 This situation is called Poland :J Polish offices, to be exact. They're the places where time stops and moves backwards, as well as everything else.

I am Polish but I was in the situation like this in Southampton travel lodge where they told me that I should book a room online, even at the reception desk at place and they didn’t want to process my reservation while I was at place talking to them and they didn’t even accept cash to pay .There was a problem with my credit card as the safety password did not go through and I almost cried feeling helpless.Eventually a nice Chinese origin man at the desk helped me but I gather it was a bit unacceptable approach in general

Nice piece of comedy, I liked it listening to it in original Polish.
To answer your question, the city council in Wrocław has a security guard station. There, it is clarly written "Security does not render information". I tried to break the rule, and the guy just shook his head.

Just this year, my brother had a similar situation with one of the government offices. Although technically it was a bit less riddiculous cause the in-person service was till like 3pm and the phone service was open till 6pm. So he basically called the guy looking him straight into the eyes 😂
