Something kinda interesting is that the Democrats have won the popular vote in every presidential election since 1992 with the sole exception of 2004. However the margins were sometimes very thin, like in 2000 or 2016

The Democratic Party is the oldest party in the world that is still active.

One thing that kept the Democrats out of the White House for the late 19th and early 20th century, is the two-thirds rule.

That rule forced The Delegates at Democratic Conventions to choose a Presidential Nominee, who can win 2/3rds of the delegates.

This rule forced Democrats to choose compromise candidates, instead of someone who might be considered as a liberal or conservative. This might take about 103 ballots.

I would say that the “Modern” Democratic era started during FDR and was be considered to be the turning point of the two parties. So any Democratic President before FDR had views and alignments that would be more similar to a Republican today.

I also love how the thumbnail shows a split between of all of the “Old Democrats” and the “New Democrat” Presidents!

I'm surprised you didn't mention Andrew Johnson's impeachment, the first for a US president.

Whether you are a conservative or a liberal, we can all agree James K Polk is the most solid president of all time.

It's crazy how Woodrow Wilson, the most racist US president by a long shot, would be the last of his kind, before the next democrat president would begin the process towards it as the party of civil rights.
