Cessna 182 First Flight With New Engine!

Here is the maiden flight of our Cessna 182 after the engine (and EVERYTHING else forward of the cockpit) was made like new.

When you say you have "no ball, " are you talking about the turn coordinator? Did it disappear? Bad gyro or vacuum?

I am surprised you did not have the A&P who installed the engine in the plane for the first flight. That would have given me confidence.

Congrats! The plane looks great. Quick question. I noticed you had a Garmin 496 in the panel.. I still have my old 296. Do you like those units? I have an iPad mini with Foreflight now too, but do you recommend using the 496 or 296 as a back-up GPS?

Congratulations! Could you tell us how you prepare for any emergency at takeoff as the end of the runway has trees. What is the most dangerous altitude to have an engine failure in this runway, 300 ft, 500 ft?
