My Sisters First Flight in a Cessna 172

My name is Graham Peterson and this is my sister Isabella. I take her up in a Cessna 172 around our home town during a fine summer evening.

I’m still getting comments about not saying clear prop and not doing a 10nm call to the airport. Hopefully this can clear it up. I started the cameras after I did everything on my checklist which includes startup, pre taxi and run up. Clear prop is also in the start up so it is not in the video. I also gave a 10nm call out for maneuvers but I didn’t put it in the video for privacy of where I was. I hope y’all enjoy! I also love the tips too

I enjoyed watching yours the most because I noticed how well you and your sister get along with each other, as well as the fact that she trusted you as a pilot to begin with. I can relate with freezing on the radio. It takes time to really master it. But it’s so important to think ahead, especially when dealing with towered airports.

Congrats on the first video! Be a stickler for staying on that centerline on takeoff -- it'll prepare you for narrower runways and give you more buffer on crosswind takeoffs.

That pink and orange sunset lighting makes you both look amazing, like a dream or a perfect memory. I’m glad you made this video for your future kids. Just please be careful being so new to flying and with so many distractions in the cockpit. Any landings, takeoffs, or low altitude flying should be a sterile cockpit with no distractions. Looking forward to more videos.

Thank you I really enjoyed this flight. I’m attending Princeton for the first time thru Gov x. This has been very exciting for me. It gave me a lot of freedom and excitement. I have worked the simulator at nasa with preschoolers. My children are grown now.
