I made this video just to show how to bypass the inertia switch for testing and in emergency situations. Never leave any type of safety switch jumper out because they're there for a reason.

Geezus... Been looking for two days for a video on bypassing this damn thing to verify fuel pump was not the problem BEFORE ordering a pump and pulling the bed back from the cab to change it. Thank you!!!

While you are in there with the cover off cut one of the wires and install a $10.00 toggle switch that you can use as a kill switch/anti theft switch. You can run the wire out to anywhere you want to hide the switch but it might save your truck from being stolen. 10 minutes and $10.00 is a NO BRAINER. No relay or fuse required.

I had this issue with my 2005 Sport Trac . I was going to buy the part online but with the shipping if I want it fast the cost was bumped up on cheap part. What I did find out is Napa Auto Parts carried my part and it was only like $25 compared to Orielys and Autozone at $65.00 hope it helps. Best thing the part was in stock and just around the corner.

Does it drain the battery??

Why would you ever do this? Take switch apart and clean it.
