Consider supporting me on patreon:

Here I share some of my backstory with you about how I became an animator, whilst illustrating an album cover. It is not the full story, there is much more to say.

*I understand that not everyone is suited to a creative career and many people are not in a fortunate position where they can choose a creative career and that’s ok. I totally respect that and I do not think any less of you!

If you want to hear me talk more about my career story, I talk more about myself in a podcast episode which I will link here for you:

The album cover was for this track by Shanic

The only resistance I have is myself. Self doubt, disbelief, negative thinking. No one else is holding me back, but fighting yourself is by far the HARDEST thing in the world. I'm not giving up.

Keep moving forward, keep working at it. That's what I got from this video. When artists post things about themselves in the past and how they started out, how badly they did, the struggles they've had to go through, it's all the same: they kept working at it. It's inspiring to see these kinds of videos. Thanks so much for posting it, even if I'm a bit late.

My father is the "this isn't a real job" type of person... never give me any support...
Even as a kid, drawing motorbikes, something I knew he liked, trying to impress him ... that was nothing for him.
He even hated that i wrote with my left hand. hahaha

That's it, I'm going into some artistic field. I've doubted myself too many times, for irrelevant reasons. I'm done letting fear get in my way of controlling my own life. I'm doing this shit. Thank you for giving me a push towards it.

Huge respect for the amount of hard work and dedication for drawing/animating. The amount of detail, color, and precision is something that takes years of practice to get that level. It inspires me so much to achieve better in my own personal level so please keep it up!

I am majoring in Animation right now in college and I'm not sure if it's what I want to pursue anymore. Really hoping my next semester classes help me decide .

Thank you, you actually said very correct words about your career. You know, I also have such a turning point. And in fact, my situation is somewhat sadder than yours. I've always wanted to do animation, but everyone told me it's not yours. I was told not to look in this direction. When I took up photography, everyone said it wasn't serious, you’ll give it up in a couple of years. and now I have so many skills 10 years of working as a packaging designer and photographer behind me. but my desire to plunge into. And in fact, I'm by a hair's breadth when I'm left with everything without everything and very often I come across the fact that people are just trying to use my skills, no matter what, but to the maximum. and this year I was diagnosed with clinical depression. I also did not have and do not have the opportunity to go to school for animators. So I started collecting information myself. knowledge of English at the moment helps a lot, I didn't have it before. That's why I listen to your videos with great pleasure, even when they seem to be prolonged. Amazing English speech. I also try to do animation while listening to you in parallel, and in fact, thank you very much for making videos. I've been studying animation for about two months now. and it was very difficult to take the first step. you know, despite the fact that I don't have a problem with the white sheet, it's so difficult to get my idea to move just to step over this step from static to movement ... but I do it, albeit very slowly. Now I even took the lead over one group of people who want to study animation, but it is difficult for them. despite the fact that I myself am not as professional as I would like. I often have thoughts of suicide and it scares me that this opportunity to do animation will disappear when I finally came to it. And what you are talking about crossing the line through age is something that is very scary. but it’s more scary to wake up one day and understand that you haven’t done what you really wanted in this life.

Make your animation courier your biggest entertainment,
-Stop playing games because you are an animator not a gamer
-Stop watching youtube until once or twice a day for necessary purpose or problem
-dont use your phone for timepassing
-be a stap far from social media
-Thats it you will love your animation process more than other entertainment
