I knew a toddler that ate mattresses and soil. He stopped the soil cos his mum scared him with myths but it was difficult stopping him from eating mattresses. Whenever his mum brought him to our house we literally had to beware of him eating the couch. It's so real. He's a teenager now, and although I see him sometimes, I don't know if he broke that habit. I hope so tho.
