Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita To Replace Indian Penal Code: Changes In New Law

Three crucial bills that would replace India's colonial-era criminal laws were passed in the Lok Sabha today, virtually in the absence of the Opposition. The Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill, 2023, will replace the Indian Penal Code of 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) of 1973 and Indian Evidence Act, of 1872. The laws will be more victim-centric, the Centre said. NDTV's Neeta Sharma reports.

Good step indeed. But this new system will also have to ensure that none gets punished for crime what he has not done. Thousands of fake cases of rape are there just abusing legal provisions. How to stop this misuse of law against husbands or males as general?

Mere enactment of Harsh Laws may not help in controle of crimes. Apart from stringent Laws, sincerity n commitment and impartial attitude of Law Engorcing Organisation is equally important for yielding good results.

Kudos to BJP for such a fsr reaching chsnge in IPC. This kind 9f chsnge was needed immefiately after "NIRBHYA" case but probably couldn't, be introduced due to lack of support. As far as Comgrrss is concernef it is time that the Gandhi Familiy should quit their political ambitiom to strengthen Congress. Congress has so much burden of past particularly against Hindus which still continues that they will not be able to revive unless Gandhi's leave Congress. Strenthdning Congress is necessary as without opposutiion BJP is also likely to become Autocratic. We need two strong political parties with democratic credentials so that they vie with each other in healthy competion to do good forcountry & people.
