Three bills introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 11 seek to transform India’s criminal justice system. The bills are the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which seeks to replace the Indian Penal Code, the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, which seeks to replace the Evidence Act and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which seeks to replace the Criminal Procedure Code.
