My response is "Yes". I dropped out of college when I was 20, but I finally went back 16 years later. Two years ago I finally graduated from WGU with bachelor degree in Software Development. Positive impacts that it had on my happiness were confidence, peace of mind, and the security of knowing that I could find another job if I lost mine.

Went to college for electrical engineering:
During college = no happiness
after college = happiness

*"Everything in life is easier when you don't concern yourself with what other people are doing."*

The chances of you seeing this comment is pretty low, but if you did, *I hope you have an amazing day...* 🖤

Going to public university and I don’t have to take out any loans. And I’m getting a computer science degree so I think I’ll be happy when I graduate 😄

I feel like there are so many routes that you can go in life that it's really hard to say

Reading Aristotle, the highest form of happiness is intellectual contemplation, which leads to practical wisdom, also known as the virtue of prudence. One value of college is compressing many centuries' knowledge into a few well-selected books. Humans' abilities to reason can be trained in college while learning other subjects, so attendance is justified.

No. Although I had graduated debt free from a public college, I had regrets about the college I stayed at. I was so focus on finishing my degree that I choose an easy major (criminal justice) instead of continuing to do finance. I’m hindsight, I should have transfer to the other college.

Yes, as a female, college helped me consider careers I hadn’t before, explore more options and get out into the world. I am much happier for having gone. I do think something needs to be done about the cost, however.

Yes it does- if it makes sense for you and your mental health. And if you barely take out any loans. CONTEXT matters.

Personally when I was in college I was feeling really pressured and unhappy but when I got my degree I was very happy but at the same time I felt that all the suffering I had gone to go through it did not compensate it enough if I am completely honest but I feel satisfiied but I would like it to be more compensating and more fulfilling

I’ve been following you for a while now and your videos helped me a lot in taking some serious decisions in my life, I’d really appreciate it if you make a video about mature students, I mean is it a good idea to go for a CS degree in your 30s or late 20s, I really would like to see a video about that !

Could you make a tier list video ranking all the majors you've previously talked about in terms of difficulty?

I’m transferring to a much cheaper college within the CUNY system as I found out that one of the schools provide a more specialized program for my degree that my current private college did not. Im really excited.

A college degree doesn't make you happy, but COMPETENCE does. If you go to college and learn a skill that you're better at than someone else, then it will make you happy.

Could we also dive into online certificates, possibly even certificates offered in different fields? There are a lot of online colleges and even physical colleges that offer strictly online certificates or courses that last a couple of weeks, but I don't know how legitimate they are.

For me, no. The reason I got a degree was to make it easier to get a job, and well, that hasn't really been the case. I wish I could start over.

Do you have a video specific to Public Health? If not, I would love to see one. Thank you!
