This is why I think free parent classes should be more accessible.

I don't think theres anything wrong with letting a kid have a donut every once in a while, but NOT a 1 year old. Maybe like the smallest bit of a donut, but never a whole donut. A baby does not need that much sugar. No no no

Everything about that clip pisses me off
- The disdain with which she throws the plate down
- The blank, vacant stare into the camera showing there truly is no life behind those eyes
- The waddling, barely functional stagger of a gait that would in no way be sufficient if her or her child's life were in danger
- The self-satisfied thumbs-up she gives to the camera now that she's gotten her dopamine fix
- The fact that she took more time to set up her phone and upload a video to TikTok than she took to prepare a meal for her own offspring

Giving your child a donut every once in a while is okay, but consistently giving your 1 year old tons of junk food is not okay

I watched a former friend of mine feed her two children Happy Meals daily. Those kids were obese before the age of 5. Sure, as a mother, I don't always feed my kid the best food. Who hasn't given their kid a donut for breakfast? But when it's all they eat, there's a serious problem. Those kids are going to be plagued with poor health and medical issues their entire lives. It's unfair to cut a child's life short like that and put them through a life of suffering.

See, I was a fat kid (and teen, and adult until I lost 100 pounds) and that’s why this pisses me off. Growing up obese is horrible for you mentally and physically. It’s ok to splurge on junk food occasionally, but the majority of food you eat should be healthy.

Wow, I've never seen a mom that is so *uninterested* in their child. She plopped that plate down beside her daughter like, "Here. Eat." She seems so cold and disconnected from everything around her. I hope they have other family members around to keep an eye on things, and someone who will actually interact with her children.

idk it's the whole energy behind it. the way she throws the bent up lid onto the counter, her looking into the camera as she loads the donuts, the way she's out of breath without uttering a word. i think it rubs people the wrong way because i'm sure we've all been to a house with this energy, where the mom just doesn't give an F and nutrition is an afterthought. we were poor as all hell but never once did my mother find herself labored over store bought donuts at 11 am

A carton of eggs costs the exact same as that bag of donuts and they only take a few minutes to scramble them up.

My issue with her isn’t so much that she’s overweight and feeding her kids donuts. My issue is that she is so apathetic while caring for her kids.

I am overweight. I have been since I became a teen. When I had my daughter I did right by her and made healthy choices for her. I have also had undiagnosed depression since my early teens as well, so I can fully understand just going through the motions as a mom and just trying to get to bedtime without crying. BUT I love my kid and would always try to be a happy positive person for her. Some days it just wouldn’t work and maybe I would toss a plate on the counter like this mom, but not every damn meal every damn day. And when you use the emotion you feel for your children in what you do, you may make better choices for them (at least I did).

My daughter is 14 in a month and she is 5’ tall and 90 pounds. She’s a small petite girl, but perfectly healthy for her height. She’s happy and as well adjusted as she can be for someone who has a fuckup dad and a mom who is depressed with chronic migraines but does whatever I can to make either of us laugh. Hopefully I give her some good stories to tell her therapist one day (kidding).

It’s the fact that she literally throws the plate at the camera in every vid that really sets the tone of “idgaf” not only that but her unkempt appearance, the crooked glasses, the heavy breathing while just standing there cutting 🤢

Childrens hospital nurse here, the biggest problem isnt sugar people even though children under 5 should have as close to zero sugar intake as possible, its the fact that its solids, its bread, its chewy and sticks in your throat, its a choking hazard for a damn 1 year old. An infant should eat liquids and purees/mashed while slowly being introduced to solids like fruit and veggies etc. Those pieces she cut are friggin huge! Its should be small introduction portions that start out being mashed up and stuff like chicken etc being shredded not big chunks. And with time these portions get bigger, mashing also forces kids to learn to use utensils which trains their motor skills, letting kids eat big pieces with their hands is such a bad choice.

I dunno whats more depressing the meals she's putting together or her facial expression while putting it together

If you're asking if the one plate of donuts and apple sauce was a problem, as a father, the answer is, yes. That is too much food for a 1-year-old to be eating at once, you could potentially really hurt the baby's stomach that way. Infants and little babies really cannot tolerate much food at once. It's unnecessary and potentially harmful.

Really makes me wish you had to get a license to have kids.

My wife was a child development minor in college and the issue isn’t the donuts, it’s how old the kid is. A one year old shouldn’t be eating something as crumbly and powdered as a hostess donut. A two year old is better suited to eat something like that, but me as a full fledged adult, get bits of hostess donuts in my windpipe every once in a while, so imagine how a kid as undeveloped at 1 year old would react to that.

It's the fact that she looks like she'd rather be anywhere else and doing anything else other than feeding her kid that bugs me the most.

Why the woman looks like a south park character

OK, I was born in 1981 and I ate toaster strudels, pop-tarts, surgery cereal etc. for breakfast. Single working mom, mornings are hectic (although this woman seems to not work?), but always had a protein, starch and veg at dinner. and of course we had take out takeout...trust me, I did not grow up with the greatest dietary values HOWEVER, it's that this woman can barely walk, she waddles and struggles to breath and just looks miserable. That is what concerns me, she is passing these traits down to her children.
