I love how on the thumbnail, all he’s trying to give the ref is a single dollar

The commentators saying “why is he safe?” always hurts to hear. They knew how sad that call was for Gallaraga

The way the ref walks up to Michael and says, "but I believe you" while looking up at him with adoring eyes is too just funny😂😂

Thank you for helping me to relive some of my worst memories as a Detroit sports fan lmao

The Jim Joyce not out call still pisses me off, to take away a perfect game like that and it wasn't even close.

That rams saints interference is still beyond me how they didn’t call that.

Clearly if these refs had another eye, they’d be cyclopses.

What is the controversy in the play at 3:18? (walk-off HR)

It is my firm belief that every single call or close moment could be subject to review and any call made by a ref can be overturned in all sports.
Human error is way too common for ref's eyesight and judgment to be the only factor.

"You can't go to replay to determine who caught the ball, so that call has to be made on the field"

WHY?

I love how flustered the refs get when the chorus of boos rains down upon them like they somehow weren't expecting it.

I love how Detroit is represented three times in one video about controversial calls.

For the Record:
Tigers, Galarraga has a perfect game going... that would have been the final out.

Lions, Tate catch: This one the officials got right and followed the rules correctly, just a stupid rule. It's entirely possible that the team could have gotten lined up and run a play to spike the ball in the 8 seconds that were left.

Lions, Calvin catch: That's a catch.

The Saints No pass interference call STILL pisses me off.

Not even a Cowboys fan but Dez Bryant: that was a catch.

Some context for the altuve clip. This was before a major sign stealing controversy emerged that revealed for the two years prior to that play, the astros had been stealing pitching signs by watching the televised broadcast and banging on trash cans when the pitch was offspeed.

There were rumors that because they hadn’t been caught yet but there were no cans heard in 2019, that they might’ve switched to more covert methods (like a buzzer under altuve’s shirt). This was only fueled by altuve telling his team not to rip off his shirt and dodging the question after the game.

No further investigations took place, and the 2019 astros World Series title still stands (much to the chagrin of Yankees fans)

Having been in New Orleans watching that Rams/Saints "no call" pass interference, I can tell you that the referees made it a point to leave the stadium VERY quickly (and quietly) after the game. Some lawsuits were actually filed by fans against the NFL for damages (loss of vendor revenue or something like that), deficiency of product, and a couple of other oddball suits.

I would have to say the Seahawks "Touchdown" is probably by far one of the most controversial moments in Sports History. They showed that play from multiple angles for like 20 minutes that day, and I still could NOT find a reason to believe that was a Touchdown, by any stretch of the meaning.

The Durant missed call was horrible but it didn’t ruin anything like the first two because harden hit a game winner right after that

I still can't stand to watch the joyce call at first. Robbing a pitcher of a perfect game is sickening.

My favorite thing about the “Fail Mary” was that the NFL realized how bad the replacement officials were so they ended the lockout with the regular officials the following week. Now look where we are with officiating. 😂
