Genex is basically a dollar store version of handrip synchron. One ash on the normal summon after they make the link 1 and it’s over unless they have call by

Spell and Trap Cards....all they ever needed was spell and trap support to bring all their sub-archetypes together.

One thing i really wished they had done for the archetype was a mix of the ritual beasts mechanic, where the fusion can de fuse into its materials, and the crystron mechanic, where the tuner can synchro with the field, gy or banishment during the opponents turn.

Doing that for genex, where the synchros can quick effect de synchro into a tuner and a non tuner genex from gy/banishment, then the tuner can quick effect re synchro, then de synchro again, to re synchro using a different tuner.

Its kinda of fitting for the deck, since genex are all about recycling/taking care of the environment.

Literally all they need is like a field spell that protects the link summon effect like with the new support for flameswordman and a search spell and it’s probably fixed

Instead of poiting left the link 1 card just point down and cut the part that says that you can only summon him once

I would add more special summoning to the deck as in in their card effects for example "if you control a genex monster you can special summon this card"

the point of genex was to support the good archetypes of Duel terminal in their fight against the worms

new genex retrains need to be more resilient to handtraps and also quick synch with opponents monesters and they should change this deck to a control one since being a glass cannon sucks

Genes could have been a alright deck. The genex deserve their own specific spell and traps maybe a xyx or same same a fusion

Make the normal monster an effect monster that has alternates special effect that if you reveal the vanilla version then special it with a once per turn and it locks you into only synchro summons once it hits the field

I feel genex could use a broken card that makes them super consistent and grindy. But basically forces you to rely on the genex engine (so locked). Kind of like tower defense

Plant is playable because the link-1 is very good and the link-2 is very good. Genex just needs a great link-1 and link-2 to be playable and combo off. You can honestly fix every deck with this formula heck look at traptrix it was unplayable but with sera the deck is one of the cheapest playable decks
