I Didn't Know My Hair Was Curly! - Curly Hair Journey

Hey everyone! This is my first video, so be kind. I'm not super knowledgeable about curly hair, but I wanted to share my journey so others could learn from it.

It’s so weird bc every single picture you had of your younger self, when I was that age my hair looked the exact same as yours. Same hair length, texture and style. everything. Crazy.

Me, my siblings, my mom, etc we weren't educated on curly hair...everyone was used to straightening and heat damaging and thought the frizzy hair was normal. Fast forward to 2018 we're all on our curly hair journey together.

this story is like my own. but yours is the white version. 😂

in my black version, i used to be relaxed (chemically straightened hair). it was dry, weak & would always break. then i randomly stumbled on natural hair videos on YT so i was inspired to cut my hair short and grow my natural hair out (which, funnily enough, like you --- i was never really aware of because i had relaxed hair all my life).

now i have natural healthy hair & i am SO HAPPY! ❤

I am half black and half white and I didn't know my hair was curly until I was 40! I cut it all off, and, SURPRISE, it grew in super curly :)

Omg I’ve had straight hair all my life until a few years back it got really puffy and when I recently cut it I’ve noticed that it has curls in it. But because this is new to me I still don’t know how to take care of it. Crazy that this video was recommended to me

I literally have the same story but I was 13 when I found out.
My mom had really curly hair but my dad had really straight hair so I just thought that I got my dads hair but then one day my mom told me that I always “ruin” my curls when I blow dry it so I was bit shocked that my mom hadn’t told me that for literally all my life, so I tried air drying it and it was so curly. And now all of a sudden I have curly hair
