Also your diet has a part to play with hair growth. As well as mental and physical health.

Rule number 1. You have to learn to love your hair, because if you love it, you will treat it kindly.

As an older person, let me tell you one of the things to growing black hair.. Moisture, moisture, moisture.. Meaning feeding your hair water, if you keep watering a flower doesn't it blossom and grow, so does your hair and also keeping good diet, hopefully eating more dark green veggies..

the thing is, hair is gonna grow whether you like or not. it’s about retaining length & preventing breakage. that is the haaaardest part 😩 i didn’t realize how careful you have to be when detangling & brushing! moisture plays a big role too.

To each their own. I love 💕 your natural hair. Straightening your hair without chemicals still keeps you in the natural hair community. Embracing your texture doesn’t mean you can’t play around with your hair as long as you’re giving it the TLC it requires for growth.
Thank You 🙏 for sharing this video. Consistency is key to all growth. ❤😊

The problem isn't always growing your hair out but preventing breakage and keeping your scalp healthy.

As a lazy natural I have learnt one important rule. Twist it or put your hair in conrows and then leave it alone is the secret to hair growth.

The only way I got my hair to retain length was to get locs & leave it alone & just let it grow naturally. I just wash it weekly & retwist once a month. Some ppl's hair just wants to be left alone

First I just wanted to say, that hair is gorgeous. I started mine in 2022. I have a stylist that takes care of my hair every 2 weeks. I reached my goal to my mid back. I am there now. I am pushing towards my waist.

Been telling this to women for the past 13 years..the secret to growing your hair long is breathing in and out..take care of it..stop cutting, coloring, perming, and burning your hair and give it time..it will grow..but you have to learn to deal with the ugly phase. Too many people want perfect hair ..you want perfect buy a wig..you want long natural hair you will have to learn to face yourself push past your insecurities and accept you for you..this incudes your hair.

Take care of your hair, don't stress it, it will grow, and genetic also works, and just because your hair don't grow long, there's nothing wrong with it, it's just not what your hair do and that's ok ❤

This is probably the most relaxed that I’ve seen Jonathan in an interview. Fun but important conversation. Thanks for posting.

1. Go natural
2. Wash once/week
3. Twist it up
4. Put a head wrap on
5. LEAVE IT ALONE

Also:

- You don't need a whole lot of products (eg just mix a couple dollops of conditioner with water in a spray bottle for a conditioning spritz. For natural oil, mix castor oil and coconut oil together - these alone should be enough)

-NEVER COMB IT WHEN DRY - always when at least damp.

Your hair will be down your bum before you know it.

Preventing breakage is key. Once you learn how to do that for your hair type, it’s on!

Hair tip for anyone regardless of hair type or texture: Stop using hot water on your hair. It doesn't have to be cold, but use cooler water to wash/rinse your hair. I got rid of SO much frizz by just doing that. I'm sure outcomes vary from person to person, but cooler water will help anyone's hair regardless.
