My mom was denied a biopsy for ten years, they waited until her breast tissue was going necrotic before they’d test her for cancer. She died earlier this year. Before this crime was committed, United Healthcare sent me a mailer to change my health insurance. I didn't change my health insurance because I didn't research them yet. Then this crime happened. The best thing people can do is to change their insurance in droves and tell them why they're leaving. Then the company will go out of business.

United health has been proven to refuse payment of 50% more claims than any other practise. They wanted to refuse payment for anesthesia during surgery. My husband was denied coverage for his broken ankle! We had to make a homemade walking cast.

I used to answer customer service calls for UHC. Honestly, I had to stop because I was being verbally abused and told to just stick to the script. I was often told, "There's nothing we can do, " in regards to reducing costs for members. It broke my heart, and I told them exactly why I was leaving when I finally had enough.

My uncle was a state worker with health coverage. He had covid and they found a spot on his lung. Imsurance didnt cover biopsy. A year later, they discovered it was stage 4 lung cancer that traceled to his brain. He tried chemo and treatment for about 6 months until he got too tired. From the day he stopped treatment, it was one week before he died. He died screaming in pain to the horror of my aunt because they wouldnt gove him proper pain medication. After he died, they left his hody there for 3 hours and after removing it told my AUNT to call and have the hospital bed (they didnt want in the first place) removed.
I personally have been trying for 12 years to address my chronic and debilitating pain and congenital bone conditions. And because of the silly red tape and insurance structured step therapies, i walk around just waiting for the relief of the end. Very sad for me at 30 years old and makes me feel guilty about my 2 children, who have to accept their mom with her limitations, physically.

My husband battle with UHC. He was hospitalized and was being released. He said he did not feel well. We asked to appeal UHC decision. In that time, he went into cardiac arrest and died. THEY WERE RELEASING HIM!
