Good morning! Thank you for a nice start to the day. I usually take a long walk and watch the sunrise but am taking the quarantine to the extreme starting today for a while and stayed in...and then this popped up and made me very happy. It's funny, I still feel like my first painting is my best in some ways because as I progressed, I got a little tighter and started taking longer. My first painting (on my own; I had done some wine/paint nights that were popular a while back) was based on a photo of my friend's cat and I allowed myself to be 'bad' since it was my first painting and decided I wasn't going to get bogged down with details. It also only took a couple of hours. And it's still my favorite. I haven't painted in a while (my paints are packed up--I've been tooling around with a keyboard instead learning songs) but watching these videos make me so excited to crack open the paints again once I move. If I find myself getting too 'tight', I plan to stop and watch some of your videos. Ok, this was a long post. I blame the quarantine. Thanks again--really appreciate the variety of videos you do!

When I saw the darks in the darkest green foliage of those trees I thought of Phthalo Blue-Green mixed with Raw Umber. I absolutely love watching your videos, your posts are interesting to watch and I think I have learned a lot just from watching how you paint. Thank you.

The thing I’m struggling with is the way my brush will pick up the paint that’s already on the canvas. So I’ll have some dark colour for example and come over the top with lighter but because the brush picks up what’s already there it then puts dark into the next light area. Does doing thick over thin help with that?

San Francisco near tbe old Sutro Baths and Cliff House... the little blend over the thin color is what makes it interesting

Salve, potrei conoscere le miscele dei verdi sia per il prato in foreground che per la zona in ombra e luce degli alberi?
Grazie se vorrà rispondermi
