How to Disable Cortana PERMANENTLY in Windows 10 1909

In this video I show you How to Disable Cortana permanently by creating a registry key to disable it and then renaming its respawn folder.

***TLDW***
open up registry editor
goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows in the search bar
right click on the "windows" directory and choose "New Key" enter "Windows Search" as the name,

Select the new Windows Search folder and right click in the white space to the right
Choose New "DWORD (32-bit) Value"
set the value to a Hex 0 (should be the default value)
then open up the task manager
find cortana process and open up the subprocesses, find the one named cortana
right click on it and open the file location
modify the name of this folder (you can just add a single character to the end)
You'll get the UAC box, and then an error that it can't be renamed because the process is still open
right click on the cortana process and kill it, then VERY QUICKLY go back to the error box and click try again
Cortana is now permanently dead. :D

Thanks for the video! I'm slightly confused though. If renaming the folder is actually what prevents Cortana from respawning, why was editing the registry needed? Will Windows recreate the folder with the old name if you don't do it?

I started playing this really cool video game, and every time Cortana popped in, my game would freeze up..! Cortana would do this periodically throughout the game!
I tolerated it before, but in my "quest" to deactivate Cortanna (so that I could play the game without interruption), that the HIGH DIFFICULTY in turning off Cortana became apparent, and made me suspious as Hell.. Why..? Turning Cortana off should NOT be that hard..!

SO this doesnt work for me, when I hit "end task" and then I quickly hit"try again" before coratan responds, it doesnt go through and just comes up "cant rename because its open" again. Any advise? PS thanks A TON.
