The description you gave for "soil starting to lose it's quality" is actually just what you would see in a peat-based soil after it has dried significantly. It can be remedied by bottom watering-- but I do think that peat moss is just a poor soil for succulents anyway, so might as well repot into a different medium entirely lol

Thank you, that’s very helpful. I’ve bought a couple of Lewisia plants and didn’t want to repot too soon.

Hi, can i use back the old soil (just add in some new soil) when replanting into a bigger pot? Or do i need completely new dry soil?

I just bought the echeveria Perle Von Nurnberg. I had a feeling it needed to be "potted up", as it was still in the grower's pot and appeared to be cramped. It's a great looking little plant that will eventually get a lot bigger, so I figured now was a good time(summer) and when I was going to pot one I got in the mail. What was in the mail? About a foot long couple of stems along with their roots from what's known as a "Traveler's Palm"(Ravanala Madagascariensis). I hope I spelled it right. I got it from Urban Tropicals in less than 2 weeks, which I thought was fast. Can't wait for it to start growing. Great channel, BTW from a subscriber in Lake Charles, LA.

I made a succulent arrangement months ago and it’s just got out of control. They’ve got huge in no time. I want to repot them but have cactus soil and everything. What tools would you recommend me use when they’re very tightly packed together? Thanks!

How do you know a plant’s dormant season?

When you say clean the dirt off the roots like tap it or wash it with water can you detail that a little more? Are you washing all of the previous dirt off? So that its just root or is there still old dirt while replanting it. Thank you so much!

How do you know when your succulent's dormancy phase is? I have several different varieties people have given me over the years. Some I labeled, most were just given to me without any information. Also, does this apply to echuvarias, too? Thank you for your time & great informative videos. 👍

Another question please. I have a chart of what succulents are winter and summer dormant. Is there a way to tell when the dormancy starts? Is it better to stick with ordering (from your store of course) summer dormant succulents for a while, until the spring?

Hello, new viewer and also a newbie to succulent care. I wanna ask what to do if the succulent you receive have stalk and flower?

Hi I did this with one of my succulents that I got about two weeks ago for 1 dollar as it was sunburned. It was still in this very tiny pot and kept falling over so last night I repotted it and used cacti soil. This morning I found it slumped over the pot. Did I kill it?

I'm assuming it's a must to fix a plant with root rot or stem rot during its dormancy?
Secondly, will a plant develop new roots after a cutting the stem during the dormant time?
Thank you succulent box, your videos are so presentable with soft lighting, beautiful spotless backgrounds and most of all highly informative.

I have 2 spiraling succulents, stonecrop raym. Hamet. They have pointed green leaves. I only have moisture retention soil. Is this bad? I have a bag of volcanic rock though.

Hi, great video!! hoping you see this but my Gasteria Flow Succulent has certainly outgrown it's pot, I am told to wait till spring to repot it. Will it be ok if I wait? and do I really need to wait? Thanks :)
