Thank you once again for a fantastic video. I don't do the live webinars because of time constraints, so having these recordings is so important for me. I direct almost everyone I come in contact with to Dr McDougall and all the other wonderful doctors interviewed here, as well as talk about the life saving information I'm always learning and doing my best to personally follow. Thank you Gustavo. I hope I can meet you, and all the other wonderful people you know, and interview some day.

Hello, i'm 25 year old male and I wanted to ask John a question about ulcerative proctitis. I started eating a plant based diet about 4 years ago, and was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis about 2 years ago. I took the meds the doctor gave me and eventually stopped because I felt better. I stopped taking the meds and stayed in remission for about a year. Occasionally, I experience mucus and a tiny amount of fresh blood in my stool. I'm on a low fat, carbohydrate based diet, with little to no animal products at all. I do however drink alochol moderatly and drink black coffee every morning. I feel like that when I cut out gluten, alcohol, and coffee my symptoms get better. Are there any other steps I can take to further help my proctitis issue?

I feel like I got proctitis from taking accutane years ago. Certainly ulcerative colitis is more of a western diet disease so I became confused when I got it as a plant based eater.

You know, I have become addicted to these video blogs.

All kidding aside, I have had numerous colon polyps removed in my first and only colonoscopy. My people typically die of heart disease not colon cancer. Anyhow, interested in all things "colon"

I had Graves disease and a goiter as a child. My thyroid was surgically removed at age 12. I have been on thyroid medication ever since; I am now 65. Every year I have to have a physical to get my prescription renewed. Last year it cost $1500. I have no health issues. I go round and round with my doctor every year because he wants me to have a mamogram, a colon screening, bone density, flu shot, shingles vaccine and a battery of blood work that I can't even make heads or tails out of when I get the report. I asked to just have my bloodwork for thyroid and they said I had to have the physical. Is this correct?

Before I became a vegetarian more than 10 years ago, I found some blood in my stool on a regular basis, I never contacted my GP for it, I just quit meat.

They found blood in my father stool then they did a colonoscopy they found a 6mm cancerous polyps. they asked him to come back for a second colonoscopy. The second time they said that they caint see very well inside his colon...so now he have to go back for a third one...they also told him to do a magnetic resonance. i convinced my father to do the gerson therapy. I would love to hear the docs speak to conditions of the skin. My skin has cleared up with my change in diet from SAD to 80/10/10 no oil, meat or dairy. My spotty fair skin has cleared up (after 9 months of diet change). I successfully treat spots that are 'pre cancerous' with straight vinegar to perform a chemical burn. This is exactly what dermatologists want to perform with liquid nitrogen for hundreds of dollars (per session). Also, the last (only) dermatologist recommended a chemotherapy creme for my skin to be applied once a year. It is a chemical peel which completely erodes the top layer of skin; very disgusting. I fired my dermatologist after that recommendation. I have fair skin and am treating any issues locally with vinegar. But, since my diet change my skin is transformed 100 %. I wish I had before and after images.
