"Ultimately ... if it brings you delight, then go for it"

Exactly how people should be thinking about coffee.

This is amazing James!! Make more videos about coffee history 🙏 Would love to know why the Americas does drip and Europe mostly does espresso! Or why single origin has become the hot new thing over blends!

It matches with the history of coffee, great footage used and great rhythm. You're becoming really good as a Filmmaker James.

3:10 "Having plenty of coffee flavour, and having a thick layer of foam".
This is exactly why I love flat whites. You still get a nice coffee flavour, but you also get the lovely milky foam.

About 1 am in the morning and tomorrow university. I have to study a lot so the only reasonable response is....to watch a video about cappuccino. I'm severe lactose intolerant and don't drink coffee. Seems like a good idea.

But I have to say. It was a great video. I really like your voice and intonation

As an avid goer of Viennese coffee houses from when I briefly lived there, this delights me. I've been trying to experiment more with international coffee, but it takes a lot of going back through coffee history and getting a cultural context for drinks, not just recipes. Thank you for this great video!

James, your notions on rhythm and narrative are way beyond the youtube average, even on much bigger channels. Just found out your channel a few weeks ago and keep coming back to one or another video I haven't watch yet.
Cool and fun content, as always, hughs from argentina! Un abrazo desde argentina!

This makes so much sense! There is one cafe I used to frequent that had a delicious cappuccino. But I struggle to get the same experience elsewhere since I moved away. They always served it as a 6oz drink with a double shot I believe.

The only thing missing is watching James make what he'd expect if he'd order a cappuccino! I tend to make a Jack-achino as in I have no precision on foam ratio and just steam the milk typically in the same manner and pour it in the mug with espresso. I do tend to add cinnamon but shaved dark chocolate would probably be good too!
