Watching this again I’ve realized many glee club members have asked why everyone is afraid to upset Rachel and that question was never answered.... Tina, Mercedes, Kurt, Santana, Finn... and more and the show never answered the question.

I mean....Mercedes wasn't lying. Rachel always got what she wanted. Clearly she didn't win Maria hands down because they would've just given it to her without double-casting if that was the case,

All these comments saying that Mercedes has too powerful of a voice are hilarious. Amber ( Mercedes) also has a great vocal range and genre, if she wanted to she COULD be as light and delicate as the role demanded. Her reaction was totally justified.

Honestly, I love how Mercedes handled this. Glee went over the top all the time trying to portray her as the angry black girl. But here she doesn't raise her voice and doesn't have an attitude, she said what she had to say but still says it confidently and strongly. She was such an icon
