Mercedes was absolutely right. The problem here is Rachel and Finnish were Mr Scheme's favourites point, blank, period and Rachel was spoilt beyond belief.

All that I'm saying is that it's real weird that the show made a point to emphasize the homophobia Kurt goes through, and the antisemitism Rachel and Puck go through, but when Mercedes, a plus size black woman was treated like garbage and constantly passed up on solos and leads we were supposed to think it wasn't due to racism, misogyny, and fatphobia?

As a plus sized girl I know the struggle of doing dance moves like that. It takes ten times more effort to get them than everyone else in your cast. It can make you really embarrassed, and self-conscious. I could only imagine how Mercedes was feeling then. Mr. Shue handled it so wrong. Encouraging her was alright, but the second he said did you even practice he crossed the line. She was obviously embarrassed. She didn't feel well. Maybe it was an exscuse, but a volunteer school program should not shame a student.

i love rachel and all the new directions. but i have to agree with Mercedes cause rachel does get everything and she may work harder than everyone else but the point of glee is to give eveyone a chance to shine and no one else can shin in the background kf rachels spotlight

I kinda agree with Mercedes, Rachel was his favorite. And I know you people say she's worked hard for it and yeah she has but that doesn't give her an excuse to act like a child every time she doesn't get a solo. There was a lot of talent in that choir room but it wasn't showcased as much as it should have been.
