Ironically enough, it's the 1953 film that is the most accurate in this case, as it shows the main barrier keeping third class from the boats was language, not physical gates.
Also, unrelated to Titanic, today marks the anniversary of the sinking of Yamato during Operation Ten-Go in 1945.

I wasn't expecting one of the animated Titanic movies to be on here then again I felt the same when In Nacht und Eis and Atlantic were included in the Informing the Wireless Operators trope

In real life, the gates were just used to keep third class passengers from entering first and second class when the ship hit the iceberg all the gates were open

3:38 6th officer James Moody was so close to locked the gate

It's interesting that Jack and Rose were able to flit between first and third when the ship was afloat, but the moment the ship hits an iceberg the stewards all act like Scotrail gateline staff when your train's more than two minutes from departure.

I can't believe that every titanic film portrays Ismay as a villian

Steward in A Night To Remember: "I'll have you arrested for damaging company property."

Me: "It's about to be damaged, anyway."

Interesting that there are two movies with staff complaining about property damage. :)

Interesting that every movie shows this when historians say it never happened

The titanic 1943 was more brutal the two third class man throwed a chair on a crew member and the officer shoots and the officer got throwed away from a passenger
