it started when they started handing out trophies to every single child, even when they lost the game. it created an entire generation of people who can't handle loss, rejection, negative feedback and the real world.

We've gone from a "me me society" to a "gimme gimme society". That's what today's kids believe. That they are entitled and should have everything handed to them.

I'm 66 and my generation was trying to make up for everything we didn't have. I thought providing everything was being a good (single) was wrong. It produced ungrateful, entitled, narcissistic bullies.

when i was young if you can eat & drink 3 times a day, take a shower, have a roof on top of your head without having to worry about paying the bills, you don't have the priviledge to whine

Our generation has lost something called common sense. It vanished when giving your child a well deserved meal of humble stew called a snack down was associated with child abuse. Discipline vanished when children are unable to learn it when the law makes it impossible to raise your children to be productive citizens. Family break apart when children seem more focused on social media likes instead of real life friends and family.

My neighborhood use to have kids running and playing before I moved in and it was a nice neighborhood too. But now children are inside on the computer doing nothing but lazing about as overgrown green haired couch potatoes.

I say beat these kids down, smash their electronics, and set them straight screw the law when it comes to how to discipline your child

It scares me that they work in hospitals!

Ask any kid in an inner city school what they want to do as a career! A NBA star, a rapper, a drug dealer, a gamer, or a You Tuber! Parents and schools have done a horrible job!

***In today's society, so many children feel self-entitled, and many adults are lacking in the ability to exercise delayed gratification. Could the culprit, and origin of these flawed character traits be the following: 1.Parents thinking that their young ones were entitled to an allowance for simply doing their daily chores. 2. Credit card companies selling the idea that you don't have to wait for that new car or toy, you can just "charge-it"***

I'm 19 and let me just say l'm ashamed of my generation. Honestly I have to say that most kids have a lack discipline. I'm glad I received proper discipline growing up

I think the root of the increase of Narcissism is fear. The fear that others will attack you, the fear of negative feedback, the fear of losing, the fear that you will never be good enough. The moment fear takes control of you will essentially be dead.
