Ultimately, in the USA the buyer is paying the commission by extension of paying the sales price. It can be seen as a circular argument which is why the lawsuit will fail.

I wonder who is going to show the 50+ houses that some buyers want to see before they choose one! I wonder who is going to open the doors, I wonder who is going to make the countless offers, who is going to do the contracts, addendums, contingencies, keep everything on time (time is of the essence) I wonder who is going to negotiate on behalf of them to prevent lawsuits, good luck if a listing agent of sellers are willing to do all the work in order to sell their houses! I just see a thousand houses for sell sitting on the market for months 🙄

What about undivided loyalty? Who has the best interest of the buyer if the seller's agent is repping both??? I think if the buyer's agent goes away you will have a lot of buyers purchasing properties for more than they are worth and not getting the product they believe they're getting. And yes, more than they are already overpriced.

Brokers will be destroyed by lawsuits. Agents will just keep selling. Local MLS's and brokerages will hammered hard and out of business. New brokerages will sprout up, and local mls's gone. We will go to a national MLS.

I feel that this may cause home price to go down a bit initially due to buyers needing to pay their agent’s commission.

I love working as a buyers agent. I provide value for people that do not know the first thing about buying houses. Not only am i buyers agent but im a contractor and carpenter. When i show homes i have a knowledgeable and informed opinion about the condition and quality of a home and its craftsmanship.
The issue is that there are soany abents out there, buyer and seller agents that don't know squat about houses. They are the real issue.

Normal fees are 6% . So don’t keep saying it is negotiable. This is why the law suit is going on.

First of all IF this gets through the lower courts it won't get through the Supreme Court. The suit makes zero sense. Real Estate is commerce not the practice of law!

I’m not going to that model. I will always explain to my sellers that dangling a big, sweet carrot is the best way to attract the most buyers and their agents for the most offers.

Help people . By causing prices to be $thousands more than otherwise ? LOL. Maybe as a by product of them helping themselves first and foremost.
