How to Install/Replace a Transmission in One Day | 1995 Ford F150

So your truck doesn't have a transmission and you need to install one. I show you how to do that in this video. First position the transmission on the jack and hoist until it is directly behind the engine. Align the dowel pins and torque converter studs and mate the two together. Bolt bell housing to engine and torque converter to flex plate. Install the start motor and the flex place cover. Connect the wiring harness to the transmission as well as the shift linkage. Install the transmission cross member and then reconnect the transmission cooler lines. The last item to attach is the drive shaft. Once all the installing is finished, then add fluid. Add an initial 4 quarters and start the truck. Let the truck get up to temperature. Continue to add remaining quarters while alternating checking the dip stick and shifting the transmission through all the gears.

Wow he did a whole lot less cussing than me lol, boy lining up those transmission lines was so much fun lol. It wasn't easy but the satisfaction you feel when you turn your truck on and drive off is second to none!, shout out to my pops!! for helping it would have probably taken me a week to get it on by myself. Bit of advise if you have a hard time lining it up bring it down take a breather and start the installation over from the beginning.

Getting a 91 F150 XLT Lariat with the 302 5l, only issue is the previous owner nabbed the trans for another truck. You make this look like a piece of cake.

Always always make sure the converter is all the way before bolting it up so you don't damage the pump. My friend is a tranny builder and he's had to redo a bunch of trannys that he's built cause some people put them in themselves and don't make sure it's all the way in. They have extensions that are real long specifically for tranny work for the bell bolts also when I do the converter bolts or nuts I do one then go 180 from that one then do it then the other 2

Hey I hope you can get to my comment but I have a 95 f150 with a 5.8 and an e40od trans. I’m putting another 5.8 back into the truck. I’m just confused now because on the left side looking from the front of the engine there looks to be two alignment dowels one in the trans and one in the bell housing. I don’t believe that is normal just let me know your opinion about it and or how to get the one out of the trans.

Hey! Do you have a video mentioning how to replace the accumulator valve/spring? I finally heard back from the shop and that is probably what's wrong with my hard downshift from 2 to 1. I can't afford the $1, 000 they quoted me to do it so I want to try and do it myself

Great video! I'm trying to avoid replacing my transmission. The past two days it's been clunking when decelerating from 2nd to 1st coming to a complete stop. It's clunking/bucking pretty hard and I don't want it to get worse. Trans is a Jasper remanufactured w/40k miles and the rear end is remanufactured with 1, 500 miles and the u-joints have 10, 000 miles on them and the engine has 40k on it, remanufactured. I seem to have a wet area near the back of the transmission near the driveshaft where they mate. I think it's trans fluid but my fluid is full. Is this related or two separate issues? Why would my kinda new transmission be leaking? And from where? How would I replace that rear seal around where the driveshaft goes into the transmission? The clunking seems to be coming from the rear, but maybe I'm wrong. It's not really a loud noise, just a hard jerk. Pretty much only when I brake slowly, not nearly as much when I brake quickly. I don't know what all to check considering everything is supposed to be new and new-ish

Does the torque converter push back enough to allow the ability to line up the bolts separately from the dowel pins when you install the transmission or do you have line up the dowel pins torque converter bolts all at one time when you install it

What camera do you use to record these videos? Is it a smartphone? And do you have an external mic for recording audio?
